Perspectives on Peace: Memory, Resilience and Reconstruction
FESTAMMU is an inter-university artistic platform dedicated to creation, exchange and student expression.
INTRODUCTION
Through theatre, music, dance, visual arts, storytelling and digital forms, FESTAMMU fosters dialogue between universities and supports the emergence of a creative and engaged generation.
POSITIONING
FESTAMMU is a pre-existing initiative, led by its founders and student communities.
It is now one of the rare external projects fully integrated into the ECOSYSTEM VLG World ecosystem, through a structural partnership initiated in 2021 and strengthened before 2023.
This partnership supports its development toward a more inclusive, contributive and international dynamic, while respecting its identity and governance.
2026 EDITION
The 15th edition of FESTAMMU will take place in Kinshasa from July 24 to 31, 2026.
It explores artistic perspectives on peace, with a particular resonance with realities in Eastern DRC and the Great Lakes region, while remaining globally relevant.
HIGHLIGHT EVENT
A special highlight will take place in Kinshasa from March 27 to April 4, 2026, centered on editions 13 and 14, including:
- results announcement,
- awards ceremony,
- trophy presentation,
- and recognition of the festival’s journey.
STUDENT-DRIVEN
FESTAMMU is driven by students.
Campuses, university artistic groups and young creators are its core force.
INTERNATIONAL OPENING
The festival is preparing to expand toward:
- the African continent,
- Western universities,
- university twinning initiatives,
- inter-campus collaborations,
- academic, cultural and institutional partnerships.
DIGITAL EXTENSION
FESTAMMU is developing complementary formats to extend the artistic experience, including exhibitions, showcases, digital relays and, where technically possible, hybrid or live formats.
CALL FOR COLLABORATION
The festival is looking for:
- partner universities,
- university twinning opportunities,
- cultural partners,
- sponsors,
- media and logistical support,
- digital and hybrid collaborations.
